A top-to-bottom renovation that modernized the kitchen, transformed the primary bath into a spa retreat, installed new flooring throughout, and added a covered outdoor living space — all in a single coordinated build.
The Laurel Plantation project started with one clear goal: take a house the clients loved in a neighborhood they never wanted to leave and make it the home they'd always imagined living in. The bones were excellent — good structure, good lot, great street. What it needed was renovation, not relocation.
The kitchen was reimagined from scratch. Custom cabinetry in a painted inset style, marble-look quartz countertops, a statement tile backsplash, and a professional-grade range gave the kitchen the presence it deserved. The layout was reconfigured to include a proper pantry and a large island with seating, making it the kind of kitchen that draws people in on weekday mornings and holds them on weekends.
The primary bath renovation was complete: a large format floor-to-ceiling tile shower with a rain head and hand-held wand, a freestanding soaking tub positioned beside the window, and a dual vanity with custom hardware. New flooring throughout the home — wide-plank engineered hardwood in the main areas, porcelain tile in the baths and laundry — tied the renovation together.
The addition of a covered outdoor porch with a vaulted cypress ceiling and a built-in grilling station gave the family year-round outdoor living that Baton Rouge's climate makes possible but that the original home hadn't delivered.
